Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist
David Axford received a Bachelor of Science degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences from Walla Walla College in 1982. He has worked as a licensed hearing aid fitter/dispenser for over 30 years. He is board certified as a hearing instrument specialist by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Sciences. David is also a certified occupational hearing conservationist. His area of expertise is hearing aid instrumentation and technology.
David has been a member of the Thompson Audiology staff since September, 1988.
David is very active in his church, and is a past president of the Yakima Lion's Club. His hobbies include photography, music, and travel. He and his wife Debi enjoy exploring the west in their vintage travel trailer.
Certified Clinical Audiologist
David Oplinger received his Masters in Audiology from Idaho State University in 2000, and his Bachelors in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Idaho State University in 1998. He received his Doctor of Audiology (Au.D) from the School of Audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2003.
Dave is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association, by the American Board of Audiology, and licensed in Washington State.
He joined Thompson Audiology in March, 2000 and became part owner in January, 2008.
Dave's areas of expertise include diagnostic audiology, vestibular testing, and digital hearing aid technology. He is also a Certified Professional Supervisor by the Council For Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC).
Dave enjoys his family of three sons and one daughter, playing golf, and serving as a leader in his church. Dave is fluent in Spanish.
Certified Clinical Audiologist
Rodney Thompson received his M.S. in Audiology from the Idaho State University in 2001, and his B.S. of Audiology from Brigham Young University in 1999. He received his Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from the School of Audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2004.
Rod joined the Thompson Audiology staff in 2001 and became part owner in January, 2008. His areas of expertise include vestibular (dizziness) evaluation and advanced hearing aid technology. Rod is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association, by the American Board of Audiology, and licensed in Washington State.
His interests away from work include his young and growing family, fishing, and basketball.
Raised in Silverdale, WA., Martin has been an audiologist for 38 years, practicing in Portland, OR., Rijahd, Saudi Arabia, Seattle, WA., and 32 years in Yakima. While living in Corvallis, he taught Audiology at Oregon State University.
In his leisure time, Martin enjoys backpacking and hunting.
